The new year opens with the powerful launch of vegan chocolate

Emmerich, 2 February 2020 – Consumers are now spoilt for choice: Katjes rolls out the pink carpet and expands its Chocjes range from two to an impressive six varieties! With last year’s launch of Chocjes, a vegan chocolate made with oat milk, Katjes not only delivered on its brand promise ‘Yes! All Veggie’ but also raised the bar to a new level. Chocjes lovers and chocolate aficionados can now look forward to additional decidedly delectable varieties:

Cookie Lover: Cookies! Everybody loves cookies! With tasty chocolate cookie chunks for the ultimate crispy bite!

Sea Caramel: Slithers of creamy caramel meet Fleur de Sel sea salt – the perfect combination!

Into the Dark: Never before has vegan chocolate been so bittersweet and richly flavoursome! The dark side of Chocjes is made with a minimum of 70% cocoa solids.

Orange County: Citrus fans will be bowled over by the tangy orange crisp and a minimum of 55% cocoa solids!

The new additions can now be found on shop shelves next to the familiar Chocjes varieties ‘The Pure Thing’, with its delicately rich chocolate taste, and ‘Hazel Smack’ with 14% crunchy hazelnuts!

Woo-hoo, no moo – what about you?

Chocjes has revolutionised the world of chocolate treats. Because Katjes says a loud boo to moo – and uses oat milk instead of cow’s milk. This makes our innovative chocolate both vegan and soy-free. Even so, it has that amazing melt-in-the-mouth softness that is typical of conventional milk chocolate.

Spotlight on sustainability

With ‘Chocjes’, Katjes delivers on its sustainability promise. Because this chocolate is not only made with oat milk – it’s also made with UTZ cocoa and UTZ hazelnuts. When it comes to being environmentally friendly and sustainable, oat milk is far superior to other plant-based milk alternatives such as soy milk or almond milk. The UTZ label certifies that the raw materials are grown and harvested sustainably and without child labour, and that the farmers work in good working conditions, receive a fair salary and are taught to use environmentally friendly farming methods, for example. What’s more, all Chocjes products are wrapped in FSC-certified paper.
